Description

First off, let me start by apologizing for how long it took me to get this done. I got this one in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and while I finished putting it together in an hour or so, I never got around to posting any photos or writing a review. I really wasn't sure how to go about this one, and just kept putting it off. So I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get a review done.

This is the Bandai Zaku Warrior (Live Concert Version) 1/144 model kit. :) It has the the basic build of the Zaku Warrior with a few cosmetic differences. The main one being that it's pink. :) I won't lie, I mainly bought it because it was pink, and pink is one of my favorite colors. :D I don't actually know anything about this model other than it's a pink Zaku Warrior. I think this one appeared in an episode of Gundam Seed, but I never got that far into the series. I'm just guessing because it says Gundam Seed on the box, and the girl in the Zaku's hand looks like a character I vaguely remember from Gundam Seed. Honestly, all I really need to know to be happy with it is that it's a Zaku, and that it's pink. :D
In terms of poseability, you get a decent range of motion of of this one. The head is on a ball joint, but the back of the head piece limits how far you can have the head turn. The arms both rotate and swivel at the shoulder, and bend at the elbow. The shield on the left shoulder is actually on a ball joint, so it rotates and swivels. The legs move up and down, and swivel outward. The legs also bend at the knees, and the feet, being attached by ball joints, rotate, pivot, and swivel.
For accessories, this Zaku comes with all the bells and whistles you might expect. It includes a few pairs of interchangeable hands, an axe, a gun, two spare ammo clips (the round thing on top of the gun), and and four what look like grenades. The grenades (or whatever they are. Feel free to correct me if you know what they are) attach to the sides of the skirt, the extra ammo clips attach to the back of the shield, and the gun attached to the back of the Zaku's waist. The axe doesn't seem to attach anywhere for storage, so I recommend keeping that with the interchangeable hand pieces in a ziplock bag or something.
I don't have many issues with this model. Getting the tube pieces into the legs was a pain in the butt, but other than that, this is a very nicely done Zaku. :) The eye piece on mine seems kind of tight, so I can't move the eye back and forth. I don't know if that just means that the eye isn't supposed to move, or if it means that it does and mine is just a tight fit. I'd rather not risk accidentally breaking it, so I just keep the eye pointed forward. One thing I don't like about the shield is that instead of using yellow plastic for the spikes, Bandai used pink plastic and simply included yellow sticker decals that wrap around the spikes to make them look yellow. I dunno why, but that just annoys me. If the decals start peeling off, I'll have to try painting the spikes. Other than that, though, I really love this model.
All in all, I really love how this model turned out. :) I like the Zakus, and I also like the color pink, so I like that those two elements were brought together in this model. :) It's bright and colorful, and even with its weapons, it has a friendly look and feel to it. :) I know Zakus aren't supposed to look friendly, but this one kind of does, you know? It isn't too hard to build, either. The decals are a bit of a pain to apply, but other than that, this is a very fun model to put together, and I highly recommend it if you collect the Zakus, or if you just wanted something different looking for your collection. :)
